1. What EFAKI means?
EFAKI in Greek means small (or little) Efi (my wife's name).
2. Why did you buy (in 1996) a boat 19 years old?
The condition of the boat was rather good. The price too, and - considering the quality of build of those boats - I think it was better than most newer ones, all that probably answer the question.
3. Does the length of boat suit your needs?
A bigger boat needs more hands. Since most of the time it's me and my wife sailing, that length of boat is quite appropriate. Occasionally, another couple will fit nicely in the double berth of the main cabin. During regattas with overnight stops, up to six people can be accommodated in the six berths of the boat, although four are adequate to trim her. Right now I'm considering safety changes appropriate for the youngest member of the crew: my daughter.
4. Why did you set up this site?
The lack of information about Mirage 28 sailboats (before I joined the Snapdragon and Mirage Association) was merely the reason. I set it up in order to stimulate some discussions about this type of boat and probably more specific to EFAKI herself.
5. Why this page is in English and not in Greek?
Mainly because of the British origin of the boat and the fact that there exists a very strong Association of Mirage boat owners in England with members worldwide.
